Saturday, April 26 Sweet Squared

I tried a recipe that Paula Kelly had given me, which she had clipped out of a newspaper years and years ago but never tried.  It was for Maple Nut Cake with Maple Meringue frosting.  Between the cake and the icing there are over two cups of maple syrup.  There is also regular sugar and powdered sugar.  But the results are incredible.  So sweet but so good, like pancakes with syrup on steroids. The one problem....the meringue frosting is a little runny.
