Tuesday, April 29th Puddle Progeny
These guys are growing in the puddle down by the garden. Last year we had a similar crop and got hundreds of little frogs before it dried up. I will keep an eye on this years crop and hopefully get a picture of them in frog stage. They only get to be the size of my pinky finger nail.

Saturday, April 26 Sweet Squared
I tried a recipe that Paula Kelly had given me, which she had clipped out of a newspaper years and years ago but never tried. It was for Maple Nut Cake with Maple Meringue frosting. Between the cake and the icing there are over two cups of maple syrup. There is also regular sugar and powdered sugar. But the results are incredible. So sweet but so good, like pancakes with syrup on steroids. The one problem....the meringue frosting is a little runny.

Wednesday April 23rd Night Watch
The yellow spotted salamanders are on their annual migration and come out only on wet nights to cross to and from the beaver pond. Paula and I went out at 9 PM on a rainy Tuesday night to watch, and help the critters cross the street so as not to be smashed by cars. Other folks were out as well. Between the 6 of us out there, well over three dozen salamanders were counted. We also came upon frogs of various species, including lots of peeper. Happy Spring!

Tuesday, April 15th Goodbye Mr. Deswert
Dale pays tribute to Mr. Deswert by putting on her Willsboro Golf Club golf shirt, then visiting a putting green to eat a Snickers Bar and drink a Mountain Dew (which was tradition on the Turn at The Willsobo golf course) then throwing a golf ball into the ocean.
