Besides the animals dealing with the cold, so do the rivers and lakes. Here's some of the ice jamming up on the Winnoski River. Weekend weather is calling for lots of rain, so I should go back and see what becomes of all this ice.

Friday, January 10th Cold Consequences
The extreme cold lately, caused my junior rooster to get frost bite on his wattle...probably because he is low chicken in the pecking order and he doesn't get into the coop and near the warmth enough. I did, finally, put some vaseline on his wattle to help a little. You can see the damage on the edges in front of his wattle. He doesen't seem too happy with his situation.

Another problem....eggs cracking from freezing before I can get around to collecting them.
